WELL DONE! What a wonderful adaption! We gathered all of the girls and "women folk" over the holiday weekend to watch the remake of this treasured Disney story and to introduce our next generation to Princess Ariel. There were families with kiddos from all walks of life, singing along and dancing in their seats throughout the movie. This production was amazing. Even though this was a "live" cast, I had flashbacks of the animation; great job capturing the magical sceneries and essence of the original script. Halle Bailey was a perfect cast to bring Ariel to life! I appreciated the fact they keep the scores as close to the originals as possible and thoroughly enjoyed the additional numbers and scenes. I would have loved to see more of Flounder. Awkwafina as "Scuttle" and Melissa McCarthy were magnificently hilarious! This was FUN! I think people who struggle with change, may find reason to complain about the diversity in casting and storyline. I mean, this was not intended to be a re-release folks, lol.
