I fell in love with this dark, twisted, horror fantasy of Little Red Riding Hood when I was 9 years old. This film is may seem "weird" at times but if you pay attention you'll understand the meaning behind each strange encounter and "story" within the films storyline. It's a beautiful film that tells of the coming of womanhood and what some men are like in an animalistic sense. "Wolves may lurk in every guise
Now as then, 'tis simple truth
Sweetest tongue has the sharpest tooth"
The loss of a girl's virginity and the girl being cloaked in red is the symbol of blood, The Company of Wolves tells this tale in such a manner as to warn young girls of a certain kind of man's desires that are not honorable.
I highly recommend this film and would suggest that you read The Bloody Chamber by Angela Carter in which this film is based off of to my knowledge.
