While I love all three actresses and the supporting cast was great, casting Kathy Bates (75) and Laura Linney (59) as childhood mates is quite the stretch. The plot is predictable and a bit formulaic, but for an afternoon's entertainment, is essentially cotton candy for the mind: pleasant, mildly heartwarming with no heavy lifting. Certainly worth the matinee price of admission.
