I don't know if the book was deliberately deserving of the Nobel prize. The ending was not quite meeting the expectations of the reader who has been reading 688 pages all along.
But there were some very hallucinative elements to this novel that made the reader extremely sunken into the novel. Istanbul history has been precisely soaked up into the novel which makes us look at the Istanbul streets from the writer's perspective.
The writer has put too much effort into depicting the artistic history of Istanbul on every page of the book.
I felt like i took a journey through Istanbul in the 1500s being one among them.
