Maybe I’m gullible but I believe what I’m hearing as I watched the 1st three episodes. I look back to Princess Diana and how the family did not protect her properly after her divorce from Charles. It doesn’t matter if there were rules in place about protocol or government funds not being able to be used for Diana’s protection or certainly needed beefed up protection services. The Royal family should have dug into their own personal deep pockets to pay for whatever was needed. So it follows in my thinking that Prince Harry is right in his maneuvers to protect his wife and family by removing them from the Firm. They were in a no-win situation and will continue to be in this spot until the Royal family turns off the press frenzy machinery by taking a hard and firm stance and finds a counter maneuver to this cycle that is destroying them. The documentary does a great job describing the relationship between the Royal family and the 5 major press organizations - which is completely sick and sadomasochistic in my view. I must be a sap … because I cried during portions of all 3 episodes. First about how they met and found love with each other. Then when Diana confronted the press on a ski trip, and then as the recurrent racist laden headlines and articles bombarded the public. It’s the public that also plays a role in this because if they quit buying these rags then there’d be no market for controversial Royal stories. People seem to want to only see Cinderella or Villainous stories. Life is more complicated than that. Maybe I’m being simple minded about the complexities of the duties of Royalty versus allowing some members of the family to take a different direction in their lives, but I’m definitely on the side of Haz and Meg. At the same time, I hope the two brothers can repair their relationship and the two sisters-in-law unite for the sake of their children and the family as a whole.
