I had high expectations because of the connection with Angel Studios but found this movie wanting. It had great potential with the actors like Sean Astin. The multiverse / alternate reality at the end didn't make any sense. The main character never repented of his "bad" behavior. He looked for the light of God in others in the dark world he lived in and did acts of kindness to fight the Benefactor (the devil). It's by the blood of Jesus that the enemy is defeated and Jesus's name was never mentioned in the movie. It's VERY loosely based on the story of Job as others have mentioned.
Overall, this is not a movie that represents biblical views well. I agree that it was confusing and discouraging, and I cannot recommend it.
