In all honestly, I thought this movie had potential in the beginning, acknowledging facts from the previous games was awesome and give off a sensation of continuity.
The trauma that Jill faces is also explored a little bit, but could have been exploited better in my opinion.
I was so hyped to see my favorites characters reunite together for the first time, only to be disappointed by cold interactions and poor dialogs between them, except for Jill and Leon in some parts.
As hard as I tried to watch it and enjoy it for what it is, a Resident Evil CGI movie, there were many things that threw me off the experience that prevented me from fully enjoy it.
Like I said before, poor dialog between characters, the fact that Jill wears the same outfit as in RE3, the incoherent plot and reasoning from the villain, iconic guns appearing out of nowhere (seriously, I legit thought the movie was being intended more as parody at this point), etc. There were too many Easter eggs appealing to fan service, which is not bad if it is done well, but it felt too forced. If fan service is the only thing the movie has to offer, being mediocre at best at all other aspects and adding nothing to the main storyline, that’s not enough for it to be good in my opinion.
