Coming from an iOS background, it's a good read and pretty quickly can get you to some advanced machine learning if you follow it along.
already knew some of the iOS stuff in chapter 2, but author made it clear which sections to skip if you already have experience with certain things. I can see it being useful for different tipes of backgrounds even if you don't know iOS
