"The Conjuring" series has always skated a bit on the fringes, given the film industry's ever-present propensity to "ridiculize" good stories.
The first two were captivating in the beginning, enough compensation for the chaotic, over-dramatized finales.
Installment #3 is as creative as its title, a convoluted mess of cliches and freneticism that cannot replace good story-telling or character-building.
Perhaps the franchise will die a natural death; or perhaps someone will recognize that it's time to pull the plug. The never-great series is now official excrement.
The film industry is one of the few that regularly peddles awful merchandise, and no one ever asks for a refund. We shouldn't be merely requesting refunds: we should additionally request compensation for our time.
