This movie has made me cry every single time I've watched it, it's an emotional rollercoaster ride of a young boy, named Jack, acted brilliantly by Jaccob Tremberly, discovering the outside world after spending his life in captivity.
His mother, Joy, played beautifully by Brie Larson, was kidnapped at the age 17 by a man who she calls, Old Nick and had Jack with him, a few years later. She and Jack spend five long years, held captive in Old Nick's garden shed, they call Room. One day, when Old Nick looses his job and can't afford to keep Joy and Jack fed, Joy fears that he will kill them, so she comes up with an escape plan.
The book that this film was based on, spends much more time in Room and goes into much deeper detail of their time there. It spends an equil amount of time in Room and the outside.
However, the film takes a slightly different approach, spending more time in the outside world than in Room.
Overall I definitely recommend this movie and the book, they are both so touching and beautiful.
I give Room a 9/10.
