The first episode has stunning visuals and costumes and of course dragons. There's really not one thing that starts out this series with a bang but instead a slow build up. Characters are introduced as well as their mannerisms and motivations. Keep in mind that this is happening 176 years before the events in Game of Thrones. For diehard fans, it is great to be back in familiar places. For new viewers, it may not be enough to compel them to come back next week.
