This is by far the weirdest shit I've ever seen.
I'm not gonna summarize anything, there's no way I could without writing an essay. If you look away for more than a moment you'll miss so many important details, can't wait to watch this at least five more times. I never truly knew where this was headed. Many people where thrown by the end but I just don't belive they were paying attention. I loved how the two women found love saphic whith being themselves, having thier daughter having the puppeteer is trapped like the book said would happen before midnight. It's such a far out premise yet it managed to keep my suspension of disbelief. It's insanity made for an interesting and very thought provoking movie. Very intense moments like the monkey cage scene made me sit at the edge of my chair with anticipation, the characters need to fill a void in themselves made for interesting motivations. There were so many connection, call backs, and parallels from beguining to end.
Not yet even mentioning how funny it was. Sometimes, I'd be laughing due to how strange everything and everyone was, and other times I'd be laughing at the characters interactions.
The reactions that John Cusack made in the beginning with how normal everyone else was acting to the 7 1/2 floor, down to the emotional intensity of John Malkovich loosing himself; the acting was phenomenal! I was stunned at how real they all felt. Catherine Keener's character, Maxxine, I found the most interesting. Her complex motivations and bad decisions surprised me with all the plot twists. She was so relatable in her dialog but selfish in her actions. Camron Diaz as lotte was by far my favorate character.
