I just finished the book a day ago. And I must say this is one of the best novels I've ever read. Khalid Hosseini is a gifter story teller. The story is knitted is a turmoil of war and insurgeries. The bond between Amir and Hassan feels so own. Amir tries to find Hassan in Sohrab. How minutely one can describe one's feeling of love and care on a child on whom his blood is flowing but he hadn't known it for years is unbelievable. The unexpected twists and turns are heartbreaking and will leave one with awe. It's a must read for all. I'm looking forward to read The Thousand Splendid Suns and The Mountains Ecoed.

After reading "The Kite Runner" I knew I had to read this book. It's about the saga to two women who fought together for themselves and endured immense suppression of political(Taliban) and social evils. Their pain, tolerance and brave acts will definitely make your heart ache and pride at the same time. And the way the ongoing Afghan unrest was highlighted is really devastating. Khalid Hosseini is truly a great storyteller. This book is a must read for all.
