It is perhaps one of the most interesting films of the 90's not only because of the controversy that surrounds it but also because of a simple and very emotional message. American Beauty delves into the stereotypes of American idealization, a very wealthy or "successful" family, with this it has difficulties in family ties. The film narrates everything about an emotional environment that seeks the awakening of our protagonist who, not feeling "loved or respected", seeks a change in his life, to give himself a chance. From different perspectives we learn that not every material good or not every ambition or desire is good for us, there are limits and the film shows us this through 4 facets of characters. Obviously, the level of production is beautiful, a soundtrack that channels all the sentimentality for the viewer.

Although the main characters were missing and that makes the original script decline, the main characters Jim and Michelle manage to have a good ending but without a doubt the character Stiffler played by Sean William Scott assumes the true leading role and even evolves, leaving his selfishness and even for the first time. He seems interested in a woman and thanks to him the wedding is a success. There should be a sequel where he is the protagonist.

It's not that unpopular an opinion, I also think American Pie 2 was a little better than the first, as did most of my college friends when it first came out. I think the fact that I was already out of high school when the first came out played a role in that, but even today I think a considerable number of fans of the franchise prefer the second.
