I'm amazed at the evolution of the style of animation. I watched little Antonio stand alone waiting. That little body seemed so realistic. You could feel the childlike pitter patter as he ran. His slight body. Like a real little boy.
The way Mirabela danced along with the songs, it felt like a musical from Broadway.
The different ways the characters danced. Antonio's dad seemed to dance cuban style like...ea had a style giving more fullness of character. You could feel Lynn-manuael's style throughout. Ea time i watch it i see more.
Can't wait for Disney to remake certain movies so they too are Culturally more authentic and respectful instead of stereotyped.
Some may say there is no plot. They missed it. It's about family expectations, pressure, being accepted but finding your worth and voice as an individual. The fragility of complicated family dynamics. Sometimes we don't learn about other's stories until it's too late or ever. So we have unresolved feelings or regrets. Wanting to be accepted flaws instead of pushed away. To Protect the family as well. We all know how it feels being a part of strong families and roles. What seems perfect really isn't. Lousia's song said it all. That's alot..to put into a plot. That's a universal theme. Personal and/vs familial worth. We all know those feelings battling within ourselves.
The last thing was the message about fleeing from your home.😥. Seeing others who are forced to leave their homes to find a new home..seeing refugees as human beings and someon real not stereotypes.
We've seen too much hatred and not enough understanding of what some have gone through to save their families. Especially if your a minority.
I adore the song and scenes from "we don't talk about bruno"..❤❤🎶
The only thing I puzzled over was that Abuela said it happened 50yrs ago. Yet Her children didn't act or really look like they were that old and to have such young kids themselves. Not exactly important but still puzzling.
My last Q was about Casito. Could the house be the spirit of Abuelo? Remember the butterflies.
