Y’all. The people leaving good reviews must be being paid by Kevin Costner. LOL. This man so impressed me with Open Range, Dances with Wolves, etc….I was looking forward to another epic Western saga in the spirit of Lonesome Dove and Jeremiah Johnson. Ugh. This thing was terrible. Lots of extended violence, blood, and gore—more so than any western saga I’ve ever watched. Disjointed transitions, confusing story lines, no character development, no central plot—all made for a terrible movie. And what was that crazy extended montage at the end that just popped up out of nowhere and confused everybody?? God bless. This was bad. My daughter left after about an hour. She’s 26. I’m 61 and was ready to abandon ship at the two hour mark, but I had to stay with my elderly dad. Even he, a 91 year old avid Costner and western movie fan, said he wouldn’t be watching the following movies. Two stars for the realistic depiction of the old West, where no one bathed and everyone behaved like homicidal animals.
