Outstanding movie that draws attention to a very real phenomenon, the most disturbing part of which is a judicial system that is corrupt and or populated with judges who have to authority to allow self proclaimed guardians to steal inheritance from the children of the elderly.

Fantasitc show that exposed a serious problem that began in the mid 90s and involved not only private doctors as shown in this series but major respected hospitals and health delivery systems. An unbelievable amount of pressure was placed on doctors by hospital administrators and clinic directors to dole out narcotics. Our jobs were threatened and we were told that if we did not comply that we were "unsympathetic to human suffering." Patients were referred to as "customers" and if we did not please the customers they would take their business elsewhere - and therefore it would be the doctor's fault if the facility lost out on repeat income - and drug addicted patients ALWAYS come back for more and they come back frequently. There was NO SUPPORT for any doctor resisting the game plan. No support for any doctor who dared to tell patients that they had become addicted and offer them help. This was because patients were given these drugs by other doctors and in their minds if a doctor is giving you the drug you CANNOT be an addict. These patients believed that because they were not buying these drugs off the street that they were not addicts. And this was taking place at major and respected health care facilities as well as in small private practices. Major facilities are big business and the people who run them are only interested in the bottom line - the money. And they don't care how or why it comes in. This is the same $$$ playbook that ran the Covid v@((*ne scam.

The show lacks depth. The purpose seems to be to let the audience know the differences between Japanese culture and ours and to highlight the horror of someone igniting himself to commit suicide. I found it boring.
