A game that may not be as good as the most critical may claim nor anywhere near as bad as the hordes have made it out to be.
Forspoken is an open world adventure that reminds me of several games such as Final Fantasy, Assassins Creed and Elden Ring. Fusing various elements of each of these titles has refined it into it's own style and carries forth a few surprises too. There is even a little bit of Diablo in there too.
The use of magic and the ability to change and upgrade your skills and clothing works to your advantage and the ability to move at fast speeds definitely is a plus. The landscape to this open world game is beautiful and when seen on the map is pretty impressive too giving you an idea of how much work went into the project.
Is it perfect? No. Obviously. But this can be fixed with updates and I'm pretty sure they will do just that. Lighting, various filtering and shading and even possibly a sharper image on some of the graphics will help in refining the game. Even a few issues that have frustrated some players.
Many titles have been brought to shame by reviewers. Square at least released a demo of this title and have remained open to hearing the criticism from players in order to fix them.
There is a good game here and you don't have to dig deep to find it.
