A great modern re-telling of a story of loss and scientific excess. I think I have watched a completely different film than some of the reviewers, the one I saw had some great acting, a well told story, pulled off on (what I assume was) a very restricted budget. All of the main elements of the original were weaved in, and the references to the early “special effects” in horror movies were excellent. Like “Dave made a Maze” this will appeal to an audience who don’t need CGI to provide them with Jan imagination, and the lack of a budget forcing the story out is a benefit. Watch this, and Dave made a maze.

An excellent adaptation of a very enjoyable series of books. Worth a watch.
