This is very good movie to watch. Well made with an interesting story that is conceivable, yet clearly an allegory for international relationships. I did not read the book that it took its name from, but reading the reviews below I can easily believe the inverted storyline. That makes this movie an excellent example of how governments operate. The movie depicts the people, how they see themselves, and how the governments sell a war to them. The book, it sounds like anyway, illustrates what the government was up to. I love Audie Murphy, he is a national hero of unquestionable character. As an American, I believe he is accurately portraying the American character, as we see ourselves and the European jaded character, as we see them, is exposed by the antagonist, not to mention the evils of Communism. There is truth in this movie, just as there is truth in the book. The people need to become aware of how those in power manipulate the people. Perhaps this movie helps as a contrast to the book
