Gladiator scenes were awesome. Storyline was not. It rewrites the storyline to something that drastically shifts the story of the original Gladiator movie. The Gladiator focuses on Maximus seeking peace in death with his family, but this movie adds a love affair with Lucilla making Lucius his son. Also everything Maximus’ life stood for was for nought since the dream of Marcus Aurelius, which Maximus lived and died for, was forgotten in less than 16 years.
