Lost Along the Way: The Failure of Destination X An absolute hot mess of a show! I love the concept of Destination X and we committed to it from the very start, but the end result is an utter car crash. The so-called 'clues' are either so cryptic that they’re worthless or so obvious that they give the game away. To make matters worse, many of them are simply red herrings, but there’s no way of knowing which are relevant and which are not. On top of that, it’s never clear whether the clues are supposed to point to your current location or to your destination. Those left on the bus after elimination are no wiser about where they actually are, so what’s the point? As for the contestants, they are either painfully bland or instantly unlikeable, a heady but disastrous combination. As I said, there is a decent idea buried in there somewhere, but the execution is woefully wide of the mark.
