To cut straight to the point, this movie doesn't really have anything to say. The whole point of the film is whether or not a group of gang thugs really murdered a blind teen or whether they were acting in self defense. The second question posed by the film is, "what constitutes justice, and how far should it go?". Out of the two questions, the second one is far more stimulating. The audience knows right from the start that the thugs just ran up to the kid and killed him, apparently for no reason, but it takes the prosecuting DA longer to discover that, which makes the first question seem pointless, as most of the film feels like wasted time since the audience already knew what happened. Thus, this is not a mystery like the movie seemed to want to be. I do enjoy how this film questions ideas of justice, namely asking if eye for an eye should be considered just that. However, this movie throws in some bad twists towards the end and does nothing with them. You'll find yourself thinking, "okay....and that's important because..?" alot. The movie treats alot of details like they're the most shocking thing ever but the audience is left without their meaning. In the end, nothing really gets achieved. I think what the movie really wants to say is that "you can't make everyone happy" but I feel like that theme is a given. Ultimately, I can't recommend this movie, it's just a mediocre film that you'll struggle to remember later on in the day.
