Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 has been amazing, it should have been nothing less than five stars and a 10/10. It has made huge improvements over 2020, and it was interesting to see how they could do it again. The level of realism with the new flight model makes it much more enjoyable than 2020. The weekly challenges were challenging and a lot of fun, and being able to hit top ten in world leaderboards was one of the most satisfying feelings. The new career mode gives it more structure meaning for beginners and experienced simmers, the weather and lighting are miles ahead of 2020. Nothing is better than a smooth, buttery landing with your favorite aircraft.
But then came the numerous issues and terrible launch. This has been one of the most frustrating experiences I've had with a Simulator. It is by far the worst experience I've had with Microsoft Flight Simulator. It's up there with the disastrous launch of Cyberpunk2077. It completely destroys the realism and I can't enjoy the career mode. The simulator would have me park in a position where the ground crew was located, resulting in a crash even though I hadn't hit anything. I would sometimes skip to the descent, and I would be on top of a mountain without anyway of recovery. Eventually, I would find myself atop hangars. I would skip to decent and run out of fuel immediately. I had to bind keys to increase the fuel quantity. I have completed the scientific research mission multiple times and it would reappear. Despite having a 16GB RTX4080, I experienced issues with VRAM. Considering the cost of a GPU over $1000, there should be no reason why I can't even run high settings not Ultra, High settings without exceeding the VRAM limit.
I am giving this Simulator multiple chances and I am at the verge of re-downloading Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 until this is completely fixed. I'll be back to change my rating once this Simulator is actually in a good playable state. โญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธ
