I think overall the movie was watchable. explicitly renders the picture of what a (black) mom goes through when her (half black) son does not return home one night. But what I don't get is being a well educated and reputed Psychologist, How could you not teach your son how to act in the outside law-enforced world. laws are the same for everyone, no matter the race! showing open public hatred to the cops and whites does not derive social maturity. Yes , we live in a world where racism is still on - but that doesn't mean you publicly criticize cops, do not know how to behave when are pulled over by the police - can inevitably lead to unforeseen circumstances, nevertheless of your race! I guess 'be more intelligent, vigilant and careful' is misunderstood for 'be aware of racism, we are the victims'!
