This is hard to rate, acting was wonderful, casting was superb but details were lacking and left those who did not read the book confused. Lisey’s Story, as written by Stephen King, is a phenomenal tale of grief, mourning and triumph. It is a book of the greatest depths our imagination may only try to reach. Unfortunately it’s difficult to tell such a complicated story as a miniseries because many details must be left out in order for it to fit into an eight episode season. Aside from the slight change within the series made by King, the book is very similar and the series is wonderful. My only grievances with the show are the slight change of storyline, lack of emphasis on the relationship between Lisey and Scott and lack of connecting details that might have helped first time consumers of this particular story understand the plot. Aside from that, I was absolutely blown away and, as always, look forward to all of King’s work.
