I loved it. Set in the backdrop of an old English town of the 80s , it follows the journey of a young orphaned girl adjusting to her new life in Green Gables with an old couple as her adopter. It brilliantly captures how this new family adjusts together, her exposure to formal education, town politics and her love. Anne is poetical , stubborn but dreads her old orphanage where she was mistreated leaving her with some trauma. I was hooked from the start !

What a lovely film. Hooked me on to it within 5 mins. Aesthetically pleasing and so well depicted. The transition of a troubled orphan to a celebrated Geisha is remarkable. Add to that, her quest to find the Chairman who became a source of admiration for her from the day she met him as a child.

Underrated show. Go and watch it , you will have the time of your life.

This movie is problematic too. The way the character Rocky stares at one of the partner's daughter and tells her that she will have to stay with him to " entertain " him( in the starting part of the film) is so misogynistic and unhelpful to the already existing condition of women in the society. What sort of a message does it portray to the masses? Can't believe that even though we are in the 21st century , the way the films are created for the audience is still awful despite the awareness in the society.
