This is my comfort movie. It perfectly encapsulates the feeling of unease and anxiousness that comes with uncharted territory. But at the same time, it's not negative, it doesn't dwell on those emotions, rather, the way in which she deals with everything, the evolution in her emotions is quite cathartic. The way she's excited about her new phase in life but her excitement slowly dwindles down and she becomes disillusioned about the harsh realities of life(but not too harsh), the way she falls out of love with life but the right people help her fall in love with life again, it's amazing how Miyazaki was able to capture such mature feelings through a little girl. This movie is amazing beyond words. You don't just watch kiki's delivery service, you feel it
