The first WiB is dripping in atmosphere and tension, partly because Daniel Radcliffes there on his own. There’s too much going on in this one and then when it does it’s boring, the jump scares are predictable and it’s slow. The first WiB was fresh, tense, new. This is just formulaic continuation although I did like the fact it was sort of a direct sequel, obviously using the same house and location with the tattered bedroom left behind after the first film a nice touch. I know sequels are hard especially when your following on from something so good, I’m a massive fan of the first one but this is just meh......... I’m a huge horror fan and I’ve seen much much better than this in my time.

The thing is you have to know what your getting into before you buy any game like this, similar to Until Dawn this is basically just a glorified movie masquerading as a video game. Yeah you have control over your character but it’s limited to walking down corridors and small areas. There are a huge amount of cut scenes and quick time events involved. But here’s the thing, this is what I like about these games. They’re mindless fun with jump scares, yeah the plot is cliche and the games a little buggy but who cares. Not every game has to be taken so seriously and at £25 it represents a modest price for a fun experience. I haven’t had a chance yet to try out the multiplayer mode but from reading other reviews it looks very fun. Overall very fun, obviously if your not into scary games give it a wide berth but if you do dive right in
