My husband and I adored this show and kind of ended up binge-watching, even though we'd promised ourselves we would parse it out slowly. As we watched the last episode, we wished there could be more. The first season was the best, very entertaining as well as a lesson in the meaning of Shakespeare's story. It was filled with emotional explanations of Hamlet by the director to his the players so they would better understand their roles. Paul Gross is brilliant at ALL times as the director, and Steven Ouimette as Oliver is a real treat. The rest of the cast shines and are all convincing as their characters. Although the plays they are presenting are all the deepest of Shakespear's tragedies, there is a massive amount of comedy, character development and fun. The entire series is littered with sex (probably R-rated) and copious use of the f-bomb and other colorful dialog, but if that doesn't put you off, this is a series worthy of watching, possibly twice. Do not be put off by the fact that Oliver is an actual ghost who exclusively converses with the director. Sounds dumb, but is done brilliantly and with class. Best series we've seen on Acorn so far. Highest recommendation.
