Insufficient research and character development. Sushant Pillai by name should be a Malayali. Yet, his son and him speak Tamil. It is surprising that he never speaks to his wife Sarita in Tamil or Malayalam. Though it is expected that they speak Marathi or Hindi, being in Mumbai, it is strange to see the father and son speaking one language and the wife, another. Similarly, Reddy by name should be Telugu but he speaks in Kannada, "Coffee Idaya. " LOL There is a tendency or indifference in the west when it comes to researching South Indian characters; "Ayyo and ji" continue to be used without reservation. The end is messed up as if running out of time.

It's a unique concept and Dev Patel does a controlled acting. A tightly woven script.
