It's a good movie overall, but I don't understand how people find it romantic. Ellis (played by the talented Michiel Huisman) comes across as toxic, creepy, and manipulate to Adaline (played by the wonderful Blake Lively).
In their first scene, he pushes for answers and a date from Adaline, uses his authority as a board member to get her address, and doesn't seem to understand no. Audiences are meant to find this romantic and endearing but it isn't.
It's a good movie, with the acting, cinematography, etc... It just sends a poor message about romance.
