I honestly had very high expectations from this film. Some even compare it to the original Conjuring(which was an alright for me), but I am disappointed with what the film offered. The pressure building was good, like you're always on the edge about what's gonna happen next. Like in the end, *SPOILERS* when the demonologist suspected something was wrong with Josh, and how slowly and carefully she acted on it, the anticipation it built was good, but then I expected the result to be on that level as well(like it should scare the hell out of me) and not like Josh grabbing her neck and shouting this and that. I heard that the film relies heavily on its jumpscares, but not a single one of them made me jump out my seat or even shout. The demon is only scary until it is an unseen force or atleast it appears for a short amount of time, when you materialize it like that red demon(which looked like a man wearing an oni mask), it kills the horror. Now now, i know it's a 2010 film but still i expected a decent horror, the plot is good though. And the cliffhanger on which the movie ends was also decent. If you're going to watch it, watch it for the plot.
