I've read most of the Roy Grace series & was looking forward to the TV adaptations. My anticipation was wasted. The books seem to have been jumbled up, weirdly adapted, totally mis cast, badly written... All the actors are very good actors but just not in these roles. I don't know if that's due to poor direction, clichéd scripts - what? Why make Chloe lose the baby? Where has Norman Potting gone? Why is Cassian Pewe even in it? Didn't he slink back to the Met at the first opportunity? He was a total creep but he wasn't bent. I'm so disappointed in the whole thing. Won't be watching any more. I would think Peter James is furious at these travesties

I watched this because I like Jones & Best plus was intrigued by Stockard Channing being in the cast Yes, the story was unlikely but it was well done by all actors, except for Channing. She was totally mis cast & brought nothing to the role. She looked awkward and out of place. I could have played that part & I'm no actress. I enjoyed it but wouldn't recommend it.

Absolutely appalling. Nobody has any personality. Dire. Poor P. D. must be turning in her grave. Read the books! Watch Roy Marsden. Watch Martin Shaw. Don't bother with this.
