I have been reading this book for a while and it’s really nice first i thought it would be boring because i like the books that have more pictures but this book does not have pictures but still it was very awesome book the story was very nice and the it's all about a girl and here family who are immigrants from china who came to america for a better life and the girl name is Mia Tang. But Mia’s life did not go well the first few weeks she came to America and she enjoyed a little in the showers in America but after days passed she started missing her cousin Shen but she overcame it. But Mia’s life was becoming worse and they was very poor and their life became harder and Mia’s family was working in a restaurant but they got fired because Mia broke the plates in the restaurant after they search for work and they got work in California in a motel called Calivista and the owner of the motel was Mr.Yao who was also chinese and he was kind at first the he slowly started changing the rules and then Mia’s family realised he was a rude man and he was always complaining and was shouting at Mia’s family they were very depressed but they can not leave the job because this the only option they have and they life goes like this and Mia got some friends who where weeklies in the motel they were Hank, Mr.Q, Fred and Many more and they became friends and days passed and they became like a family and there were many problems coming in between this story and Hank was having many problems and there were many twist in the story and it was very interesting story and it says how they overcome these problems and finally succeed and the author of the story Kelly Yang was also lived in california and was also a immigrant from china and her life was similar to Mia’s life and in this story there some real life incidents from the author's life and this is one of the best stories i have read. And my rating for this book is 5 out of 5 stars.
