Monster Hunter is a visual feast. it's full of references to the franchise, Easter Eggs, the cast and characters looks like avatars one can make in the character customizer, the gear looks accurate, but most of all, the creatures, they look amazing. The set pieces and locations are also other familiar yet otherworldly at the same time. The movie delivers on the promise of action, and it knows how to build tension just before an encounter. You also can't go wrong with Tony Jaa and Ron Perlman. As for Milla Jovovich, what can I say? I love her, have so since I was a kid. I didn't think I would have fun watching the movie, but I did. It was fun.
