Disappointed doesn't even begin to cover it. Why the writers chose to use less than 5% of the actual book plot is still lost on me. The character assassination of Artemis was unbearable to watch as were all the other jarringly different aspects of this movie. The scavenger hunt for his father's journal regarding all things fairies was insulting to the genius of Artemis. Also Domovoi? Really? We're just going to glaze over the fact that Butler only told Artemis his name in 'The Eternity Code' when he was about to die? I really thought the bar couldn't be set lower than Percy Jackson, yet I am sorry to say that I have been proved wrong. I never thought that I would dislike Dame Judi Dench's acting but what on Earth was she doing as Commander Root?! Reducing Opal Koboi to an insidious 2D villain was an affront to her criminal genius. However, I can't help but feel bad for the young Artemis, I do hope that he will be able to find roles in the future that will bolster his acting career in a better way than this atrocious movie ever could.
