Timothy Chalet was totallyiscast. He looked like a 12 year old trying to play a man. Greta Gerwig took great license with the story as well. Frederick is an older man with impaired eyesight, not at all the onscreen characters. The movie did not involve me emotionally, even when Beth died. Ronan did a fine acting job, but Emma Watson seemed to be reading a script. The 1994 rendition with Winona Ryder was far superior. If you want to see it, I suggest waiting until it comes to the small screen. I can't believe how the critics got this one so wrong!
