Stephanie Evans, although I can understand you review of this work. I have to state that the bases for you one star review comes from a place of judgement. In a way that the behavior of the characters is disagreeable to your moral standards. I don’t think this book is commending cheating, or immoral behavior, or self pity or whatever. It is not commending or discouraging anything. It is not about how it is supposed to be and how it is not supposed to be. Nothing is ever right or wrong. This book is not about good or bad, but about shades of grey. This book just shows people being people, people should not be placed in a bubble. People can not be strictly fitted to a certain moral code, people are mean, conniving, good hearted, sinners, lovers. Yes you want people to abide by certain moral code, but most of time in life it just not the case. People are good and bad. To dis a book just because the characters don’t represent a certain level of goodness or morality to them is very restrictive, unrealistic and flat way of view things . And I completely disagree. Im not here to commend or like someone for being good by the conventions of the society. I’m here to look at peoples from very unfiltered point of view- the good, the bad, and the ugly. But you know to each is their own
