This game may get a lot of bad press but the game is actually really enjoyable. The game gets a lot of bad press because the game is much darker and gritty than the first game with a bigger less basic plot. When playing this game you are not meant to be playing it in the mindset of the first game you are meant to play the game as the developers intended you to by seeing that the game is trying to show you the consequences of revenge and the toll it can bring on you and others. The only con I have with the game is the fact that you play as Ellie for about 12 hours straight and then Abby for 12 hours straight. This is a pain because you don't get to see or play as Ellie for 12 hours while playing through Abby's part of the campaign. Let me explain, the main chunk of the story takes place over 3 days. You then play as Ellie on the first 3 days and then as Abby to see what she was up to in the 3 days Ellie was in Seatle(Where the game takes place). The main problem is that you play through Ellie and Abby's 3 days in 12 hours straight before switching back to the other character meaning you don't see or hear from the other playable character for some time when the developers should have made you play through each characters perspective of each day by taking turns in the two playable characters sides of the story one day at a time which would allow the characters to grow while also giving us what would feel like more fairly distributed time with the characters. So this game is not a 10 outta 10 but I would give it a 9 out of 10. This game is good just don't let players try to tell you it's not because of it darker tone and slightly more complex story. I highly recommend the game and is worth its full price value.
