Listened to the audio version of this work and was extemely disappointed in its lack of knowledge of: Japanese society and culture, Yakuza culture and general historical context of the 40's. The plot is transparent and the characters experience limited growth-literally every trope ever. I would not recommend this for a read, watch or listen.
