One if not the worst from Brubaker. It’s not a terrible book but comparing it to all of the brubaker/phillips books out there it has a rushed feel as if brubaker has too much on his plate and is more concerned with deadlines. Sean’s art was fine. Not the best from him that I’ve seen but in no sense is it bad. Like many reviews said, it feels as though you’re into the meat of the story’s climax and the book gets yanked out of your hands by some school bully. I’ve heard artist say that no art piece is complete but only abandoned. This book takes that statement very literal. It’s a decent book but disappointed me from what I come to expect from the writer. I love the other books by the duo and was so excited to read the gorgeous looking hardcover which made my disappointment feel even heavier. I’m interested in reading what was so important it had to distract him from finishing this book. Hopefully this “non ending” experiment is over. He should write the ending first in his next project.
