I love Paul Giamatti and also read about this new and upcoming actor playing the lead holdover student named Angus. I give every movie a chance to develop. If the beginning is slow, wait it out. Don't look for flaws, let it flow and watch it develop. Ugh. The over acting, over dramatic yelling when it didn't seem appropriate nor fit with the character nor the scene. The actor who played Angus - it was like watching a high school play. He would stand there frozen with a sneer on his face, but seemed to be waiting for his cue to deliver his line. I swear if I looked close enough, I might actually see him mouthing the other characters line. (Yo director! Did you not see this?) It was like a Dead Poets Society or Mona Lisa's Smile wannabe film. The characters were hollow. I really do not understand the high ratings. I watched with my sister who usually has an opposite opinion than me and she even agreed! This is the movie that should have been given the title "Nope!"

The actress who played the adult character Helena Shaw was so dull. She is supposed to be somewhat streetwise with a gambling addiction and but did not convey anything of the sort. Mostly rolled her eyes acting irritated and spoiled with zero personality. Diane Kruger or Rachel Weisz would've brought much more to the character. Harrison Ford as always carried the movie thank God. As always he is awesome

I watched it because I read a lot of good reviews. Wow. It was AWFUl. Stayed up late hoping to watch a suspenseful psychologically scary movie. Suspenseful music, yes. A woman who is majorly psychotic, yes. Thats it though.. Poor dead pan acting. An attempt at a couple "Ahaah!' twists to the story failed miserably. Seriously please don't waste your time.
