This was originally meant to be John Lennon's comeback album after a silence from the music world for 5 years but sadly as we now know this album would become his last!, John began working on this album around August 1980 and was completed by October, when the first single "Just Like Starting Over" was released in November along with the album it was exciting news for music fans especially myself when I first heard the single played on the radio, great song too!, but then everything horribly changed on December 8th (December 9th Australian time) when John was insanely & cruelly taken from us by a hail of bullets!, the album "Double Fantasy" became a huge seller after the tragedy & further singles like "Woman" & "Watching The Wheels" became big hits from the album, 1 song I also like was "Beautiful Boy" about his second son Sean!, Yoko did her own songs on the album too but John's songs are always more memorable and likeable!, 1980 is now getting further and further into history but the memory and music of John Lennon and indeed The Beatles will never ever be forgotten!, I hope and pray that John has found peace although sadly not quite the way he had planned? ,Good album!, 4 stars!!

I first heard this in 1980 (just months before John's tragic murder) & it was the album version that included other hit singles that were released in 1967 and features on side 2 of the album, my 2 favourite songs on the album are by John Lennon.. "I Am The Walrus" and "Strawberry Fields Forever", the title track "Magical Magical Tour" was almost a number 1 hit in Australia due to it's release on the original double E.P, despite the harsh criticism of the film's TV release in the UK after Christmas 1967 the E.P then later album release (in Australia) has become another great Beatles classic & has been released in 3 versions.. the original double E.P in early 1968, later an album version from World Record Club (which I have in my collection with the great cover shot from "I Am The Warlus") then finally the original album version (the same as the US Capitol release) on the Parlophone label,it is The Beatles in their post concert tours/psychedelic best! 5 stars!!

I first bought this album in 1981,almost a year after John's tragic murder and just like the Australian "With The Beatles" album cover "Beatles For Sale" was also released in a unique original Australian album cover featuring 4 images of the band in concert at the (long demolished) Sydney Stadium in June 1964, this album was released in Australia around 18 months after the Sydney concerts and rather than choosing to release it on the UK foldgate album cover featuring the group standing together staring straight at the camera EMI Australia decided to release it on a single yellow cover with 4 images on the front but with the same album notes as the UK version on the back cover by the Beatles touring press agent Derek Taylor and a black & white group image from a US concert, whether you like the original Australian or UK cover "Beatles For Sale" has the same great stand out songs like.. "I'm A Loser", "Baby's In Black", "Rock and Roll Music" & "Eight Days A Week", great album!, 5 stars!!

When I first heard this album back in 1980 (just months before John's tragic murder) I remembered it in the all black cover with the band's faces in clear black & white and the album's title printed in big fancy pink colour print on the bottom right corner, that was the original Australian released album cover rather than the original dull UK album cover with the group's faces half exposed!, whether you like the Australian or UK cover it is still the same great album with the same great songs.. "All My Loving", George's first song.. "Don't Bother Me", Please Mr. Postman", "Roll Over Beethoven", Hold Me Tight", "I Wanna Be Your Man", "Devil In Her Heart" & "Money" are all stand out hits from this great second album by a band that was on the very verge of becoming the biggest & best rock band in the world!, great album!, 5 stars indeed!!

A great first solo album by the great Sir Paul McCartney back in 1970,the first big effort as the Beatles were actually crumbling into music history!,the album is great but could've been better with more singing than instrumental bits?,the best song on the album is "Maybe I'm Amazed" which I think is the best highest vocals from him.
