It followed the same line as the original but the characters speaking vs subtitles, filled in a lot of information holes. An extremely talented and eccentric cast. The historic time period was accurately captured and nonglamorized. I loved the original so much that I feared seeing this version, but it was successfully done without detracting from the earlier silent film.
