The game is good, but i still have a few issue with it.
1)
It feels like botw but modded. I was hoping I would feel like I was playing a new, exciting experience, but It was just way to similar to botw. I absolutely LOVED botw but after 300 hours of botw, totk just feels stale, repetitive and boring. It has the same combat, same type of dungeons, same korok puzzles (except for an annoying one where you need to get a korok to its friend), and many other similar features. Totk was just not the breath of fresh air I was hoping for.
2)
It overuses fusing and building. Because of the weapons being weak by themselves, you have no choice but to fuse items to many weapons. While many of the results are hilarious and fun, the fact that you constantly have to fuse weapons ruins the magic of it. If it was used less, it would be a much more interesting feature. The same goes for building with ultrahand. While it can be fun, you will find yourself many, many times having to build the same raft, same hot air balloon, and same carriage. While you are free to build whatever creation you can come up with, there is generally no need to use them due to them taking a long time to make, only to be used once and forgotten about.
3)
The gloom is almost identical and gets boring fast. When I first encountered the gloom, I loved it. It was dark and mysterious, with formidable foes, and no way to heal (except dazzle fruit.) It was also fun lighting up the area with brightblooms and those weird tree parts. However, after multiple visits, the gloom felt boring. It was just a large map of enemy outposts and repetitive terrain. There were no shrines, npcs (that I know of), almost no side quests, and very little things to do. I eventually found myself avoiding the gloom out of boredom.
4)
The map feels repetitive. In botw, i found that almost every part of the aspect felt unique and different. However, in totk, it just felt like the exact same map, with every part feeling almost identical.
5)
Not enough enemy variation. While they did add a few new enemies and mini bosses, it wasnt enough. While the enemies were funny and interesting, there wasnt many variations making the game feel even more repetitive.
Overall, totk is a pretty good game which people who havent played botw will love. However, if you have played through botw, you will likely feel it is too similar and boring at times. Overall score: 7/10
