Playing on ps5 I think this game needs some serious work, cultivating your village and leveling up your followers loyalty is very fun and engaging. On the other hand the combat is janky and unrefined, hitboxes are completely unpredictable sometimes you will swing through an enemy and do no damage other times youll be 3 feet away swinging in the opposite direction and you'll hit the enemy, i have also encountered several bugs such as your follower list being invisible if you do multiple rituals at a time causing you to not know what follower youre selecting, lag spikes when entering a new area, when it turns day or if theres too much going on at once (which happens often due to all the enemy projectiles) and i have even had the game just outright freeze when i entered a dungeon room with several chests in it. On another note the variety in weapons is very limited with daggers, swords, axes and gauntlets all playing exactly the same just with varying speeds and damage and the hammer has such a slow windup that it is unusable in 90% of situations making getting a hammer at the beginning of a run an instant reset. I think this game has a lot of potential and can certainly benefit from some extra content and quality of life updates, it's not a bad game for $30 but in its current state it can be quite frustrating when the game doesnt work as intended or doesn't work at all. I hope the developers take the suggestions of the players and make this game the best it can be. After more time playing this game i have encountered a large amount of glitches/ bugs some even softlocking the game such as enemies becoming randomly invincible having no healthbar and are unable to die but stay in place and do not attack, enemies in the spider area not falling out of the sacks on the ceiling causing you to be unable to continue, some villagers can get stuck inside the chests that come with certain buildings and when interacting with them you can get a weird glitch where your camera zooms in and gets locked in place causing you to have to restart your application, i have also had the game now randomly freeze on me a number of times (seemingly has something to do with chests/ coins). I have now invested about 25 hours into this game and i can confidently say that once the issues are fixed ill be more than happy with my purchase, but due to the current issues I will be bumping my initial review of 3 stars down to 2. To anyone thinking about buying this game i would highly advise you to wait until its updated a little.
