I love the 80s based monster movie vibe, with the cabin in the woods, body snatchers kind of thing… Most of the actors were really convincing. As simple as the budget was, the kids and everything else still managed to create generalized anxiety. I tend to find the creepy kid theme cringey, but it really depends… I love how horror is trying to go back in time to the foundation of typical horror premises. I see what they were trying to do, but of course folks will call it pastiche. I really enjoyed it mostly all the way through.

There is so many cool artistic things in this… The moments are drawn out just enough and the teeny bits of comedy is just right. The sorrow is readily available but the provoking of intrusive thoughts of optimism is well set up. The characteristics of the zombie or infected is unique and such a concept. I loved it.
