The show is a comfort in a world of discomfort. It’s fiction but it’s somehow so real. As a teenager it resonates with me so much. I’m no prince and I don’t go to an elite school, but the people, the problems, the experiences are RELATABLE. And I can’t say that about any other show I’ve watched before. I never expected to relate to a king, or someone who goes to boarding school but finally my problems are written about, shown, so I can watch it. So, I can feel I’m not alone. Not just a show, but a home away from home. I’m not mad because I wished one person could have said one thing, like in every other teenage show I’ve ever watched, everyone COMMUNICATES, nothing is lost in translation. And it portrays real love, not the oh I like him, so we’ll hang out, but they wanted to be together, to sit together, be in the same room, as long as they were TOGETHER, until they weren’t. And the reason didn’t make me sad, yes I cried, but not the regretful sad, because the characters were doing what was best for THEMSELVES. And as the fans, even if we knew in that moment being together wasn’t right for them, we all KNOW soon it will be. Soon we’ll see the happy ending. With queer representation, finally. I’ve never watched something so many times, cried happy tears and happy tears in one sitting. ONE SITTING. Okay Netflix. I love you, but I’m always angry at these short shows. And as much as I hate that we can’t see their story unfold more, I WOULD NOT CHANGE A THING. Because it’s the most perfect series. It’s my like, and my love, and my life until season 2. So, Netflix, my beloved, my love. Netflix, my guy *finger guns*, do me one favor, get me a season 2. I want it and I know so do you. Finally, give in, let the world see love portrayed RIGHT, FINALLY, and keep the best show ever going. Sign one document and keep this world alive for all the fans, because we love this world. And we need this world. To survive ours. The lgbtq+ representation doesn’t just give comfort, but it gives people empathy, understanding, and as the Beatles have said “well you know that it’s a fool who plays it cool, by making his world a little colder”. NETLFIX DONT PLAY IT COOL, SOFTEN THE HARDEST SHELLS OF HEARTS, LET THE SHOW PORTRAY REAL EMOTION AND LOVE IT AS MUCH AS WE DO, AND RENEW IT SO WE CAN LOVE YOU!
