Its portrait of an unhappy marriage succeeds by provoking thought about the futility if staying in a loveless relationship. there is little character development, I believe - just scenes moving between 3 main chatacters’ perspectives .I found the mother a disturbing , complicated woman for whom it was difficult to feel compassion . Not sure about the ending .
